I Think I'm Getting Fat

There, I said it. I think I'm getting fat - isn't that the first step? I eat a very healthy diet (no wheat, dairy, soy, or pork) but mommy discovered that my new food has 100 more calories per cup than my previous food. So all of those calories are adding up despite the fact that I get plenty of exercise and eat well.

So why do I stay on my current brand? My new food has worked wonders on my tummy. I no longer vomit and I am waking up much later for breakfast. One time I even woke up at 9:30 AM! Can you believe it? I usually get fed around 7:15 AM but sometimes I let mommy sleep in a bit more. So if that means I have to get fed a bit less each day, I think it's worth it, don't you?

P.S. This is a photo of mommy's bruise from the dog park. It's a rotten photo because it doesn't show just how big the bruise is or the deep purple color - just a day after the incident - but you get the point. He might have been "just playing" while chasing after other doggies, but he knocked right into mommy quite hard and mommy got hurt.

Don't worry, we don't hold anything against Huskies; in fact, some of favorite dog bloggers are huskies and we wuf them very much! And mommy thinks they are beautiful - not as handsome as me of course, but still very pretty doggies.

  1. Oh my goodness, that is quite a bruise you mom has!!!
We don't think you are fat at all Euri but we are on a warning from our vet who seems to think we are putting on to much weight!
Well when is the last time you saw a basset with a waist?
Our mum would be very happy if we didn't get up until 9.30 - then again she would be late for work!!!

  3. You are not fat - it's just gravity that's making you heavy!

  4. We are so sorry that happened to your Mommy - she is lucky it was only a bruise. Sometimes we get so busy doing zoomies that we forget that we can hurt our humans.

What food do you eat? Mom is always on the hunt for a calorie rich food for Phantom. He is Mr. Picky Boy but really needs to pack on some pounds for his strength to fight his cancer. We don't think you look fat - you are very beautiful and your coat is so shiny.

  5. Euri! Look pretty slender and energized from here! If your mom is worried, perhaps cut it back...add in a few peas and carrots (Golden Samantha's mom does this for Sammmie)....
Oh wow! We hoomans have to look out for the dogs at play!

    Hugs and snaggle-tooth kisses,

  6. Your mommy has a bad bruise! My "baby" (Pepper, age 15) has been on diet food most of her life. She's part border collie and part corgi, so she looks like a very short (and fat) border collie. But she loves to eat and she's a happy girl.

  7. I know woo still love US!

That is a nice bruise - I've bruised my mom a few times but nothing like that!

I'm just under 50# (49.7 or something like that) -

Like Sierra Rose suggested, maybe woo need to have some veggies to supplement your kibble - many Sibes get green beans to do that - not this one but I do like them!

  10. Wow nice bruise, sigh. Hopefully it will heal up fast.

I think Euri looks good. Might want to cut a bit of food back and add some greenbeans to his food to fill him up with little calories.
